How can I get involved and share my ideas?
How We Survive and Thrive has shared lots of ways for people to share their ideas and stories with the project.
We want to hear from with learning disabilities, their families and their organisations.
You can tell us about what would have made your experience better during the pandemic and ideas for the future through the options below:

Online Workshop Sessions
We will be holding two online workshops for people to come and share their stories and ideas about how things could be done differently if there was another pandemic.
Join our project team online for:
Workshop 1: 5th June 1-3pm
This session is open to everyone

Workshop 2: 19th June 1-3pm
This session is to help us hear from people who often aren’t heard.
We really want to hear from:
- People representing people with profound and multiple learning disabilities
- People in Assessment and Treatment Units
- People who aren’t connected to social care organisations
- People who aren’t part of self-advocacy groups
- People from minority ethnic communities

Workshop in a box
We have created a workshop package that you can use to run a workshop with your own group.
This means you can run a session that will meet your groups needs.
We hope this will support organisations to help the people they support to speak up as part of this project.
You can find the pack here.
The deadline sending feedback from the workshops is the 30th June.

Survey
We have created a survey so people can share what they think:
You can tell your personal story using the Survey for individuals
There is a word version of the survey if you find online surveys difficult
If you want to share a response from your organisation you can use the Survey for organisations
The deadline for completing the survey is Monday 16th June.

Evidence Bank
The Evidence Bank is another way for you to share information and evidence. Here are the types of things you might share:
- Reports
- Research
- Projects
- Documents
You might find it hard to take part in the other ways to share your ideas, instead you could share a:
- Written statements (1000 words maximum)
- Videos (10 minutes maximum)
- A photo story or art work
The deadline for sharing information in the Evidence Bank is Monday 16th June.

Conversations with our team
We will be inviting some people and organisations to speak to us individually.
These will be people who might struggle to take part in this work in other ways or are from groups who are often excluded.

Sign up for the mailing list
Keep up to date with the work How We Survive and Thrive is doing by joining our mailing list.
This will mean you hear about what our findings are and when we share our final report.
