Possible appeal against the High Court decision on sleep-ins
The union, Unison have asked for permission to appeal against the decision that was made on what people should be paid for sleep ins when supporting people at nigh . The High Court decided in July that Mencap did not have to pay its staff National Minumum wage when they do a sleep in – this decision affected the law for everyone who is paid to do sleep ins or employ people.

On Monday the Care Minister Rt Hon Caroline Dinenage MP sent a written statement to the House of Commons about the Learning Disabilities Mortality Review (LeDeR) annual report recommendations published on 4th May 2018. The statement said the government are still working with NHS England on what they will do.
