The union, Unison have asked for permission to appeal against the decision that was made on what people should be paid for sleep ins when supporting people at nigh . The High Court decided in July that Mencap did not have to pay its staff National Minumum wage when they do a sleep in – this decision affected the law for everyone who is paid to do sleep ins or employ people.
Unison have asked for permission to appeal against this decision and challenge it (so it could change what people have to be paid)
