JCHR Report on the Government’s response to COVID-19

The Joint Committee on Human Rights has published its report about COVID-19 this week.

The Chair of the Committee, Harriet Harman MP QC said:

“As we approach the Coronavirus Act’s six-month review, there are a number of concerns that the Government must urgently address.

In March, the Joint Committee on Human Rights announced that it would look at the Government’s COVID-19 response.

The Committee asked for evidence from individuals and organisations to help them look at what the Government has done.

In particular, the Committee said it would look at the new law the Government made to contain and control the COVID-19 outbreak, how this was implemented and how different groups of people are being affected.
