Relationships are everything

BBC Breakfast this week met with and talked to people with learning disabilities about their experiences of love and relationships.

Joanne shared how her fiance Lee’s supported living did not her stay with him and how support staff did not value their relationship.

The Supported Loving Network is gathering evidence and doing training to change this so people are not stopped from having the same opportunities for love, sex or friendships as non disabled people. You can find tool kits, training and information on groups or organisations working on this and part of the network here

Ndti and My Life My Choice did research to find out how people are supported to have relationships. You can read their easy read report here
